I have many students who think whether tutoring makes a difference or not to their marks. Well I think it certainly does make a difference. In my high school years I did not attend a tutor other than a tutoring center my mother wanted me to go to. However in my formative years during primary school, namely Year 5 and 6 I attended multiple tutoring centers. The rational my parents used to convince me to attend these centers was that they were essentially really cheap child care centers which also educated me as well at the same time. This to them made lots of sense, because they wanted me to perform well at school and get into a good high school. This mentality worked! I was able to attend the best private school on a scholarship. So tutoring does make a difference, but I think the student needs to understand why they are going in the first place.
